We are Excited!

We are excited about tomorrow night! Sophi makes her "debut" as "Gladys" in the production, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever!
She was cast back in August and has been taking drama classes ever since. We are so proud of her because she goes twice a week and has been working SO hard!!
Her school has been "advertising" for her and she was thrilled when someone asked her for her autograph the other day. Ha!
She doesn't know it yet, but a certain family member is flying in tonight to surprise her! I am also excited about that as well! We are ready for a fun weekend!!! I had to post this picture.....Bella being so sweet!!!

CAMEL LOT!

Tonight, we went to the Kids Choir Christmas Musical, CAMEL LOT, at our church!

Sophi had the role of Jamie Sue. Jamie Sue was a "cowgirl" during the times of Mary and Joseph. She had to talk with a VERY country accent. To practice, she talked like Miley did in the Hannah Montana episode where they were immitating Dolly Parton! I don't know if you can tell, but she was so loud, she was the only one not mic'd!!!
I took 3 small video clips so you could get a taste of our little actress.

Leaving to go to rehearsal!

Second Costume!

Dance moves!Check out these facial expressions!

Curtain Call! (And she threw her Santa hat into the crowd....um, I wasn't expecting that! LOL!)It was SUCH a CUTE program. The costumes, dancing, and acting.....I was very impressed! The most important message of the night..............Don't Miss the Manger!

A Beautiful Ballerina!

Yesterday, Bella had her very first dance recital. She was so excited because not only did we curl her hair, but she got to wear MAKE UP too! Sophi had a drama workshop all day long, so she did not get to go with us. On the way to the recital, I thought it was cute because Bella told me that her tummy was feeling funny and kinda hurting. I know it had to be butterflies!!! I was a little worried because I did not know how she would do on stage, but she takes after her sister and LOVED it!!! She takes three different sections each week--ballet, tap, and jazz. Here are some ballet pictures. I was very impressed because out of about 20 three year olds, she was only one of four that actually knew most of the ballet dance! She was good at ballet for a three year old!!!
Here are some tap pictures! And finally, jazz....After the recital, she was so excited. We got in the car and "Aunt Amy" was the first person that she wanted to call and tell about it. We went to pick up Sophi from her drama workshop and Bella got to pick where we would go out to eat. She chose the Jalapeno Tree. We realized that the four of us had not been out to eat as just a family since Labor Day. That is football season for ya!The girls always con Cary in to trying to win them something, so this time it was a stuffed animal. Sophi cracked me up because before Cary put the quarter in she said, "Daddy, JUST HUSTLE UP and TAKE A DEEP BREATH!!!" She is SO competitive!!

Last night, when we got home, Bella told me that she was moving to Hollywood! Ha! This is just great. I have one that wants to live in Hollywood and one that wants to live in on Broadway and I am married to a Football coach that wants to coach in the Superbowl one day...................At least I am surrounded by people that dream BIG!!! :)

Skating Fun!

On Saturday, we went to the Granbury square and they had a miniture ice skating rink. It was actually "fake" ice and I am not sure exactly what you call it, but it worked just the same and Sophi loved it! Bella was not "into it" once she saw all of the children that were falling down, so she decided that she just wanted to hang out with Cary and I and give "peace signs" to everyone! Ofcourse, the girls found something to climb!

It has been so nice having Cary home, but recruiting is the most important time of the year so he is off to Mississippi to work his tail off for the next week. Still a football widow until February! ;)

Thanksgiving in Texas

We never get to go home to Kentucky for Thanksgiving, and looking over the last almost 10 years in Texas, we have done a little bit of everything on this day! This year, we met our "Texas Family"---The Kasters in Dallas. Tanna, Brandy's sister lives in Dallas, so we all met there. They let me be the "fill in sister" for the day! :) I was so mad at myself. For some reason, I completely forgot to take pictures throughout the day. I did take a few that I thought I would share:

Cary and I!

Brandy and Bella!
Brandy and two of her sisters....Tammy and Tanna! (Amber we missed you and your mom!)

Alex and Skylar (Abby was too sick to be photographed!)

Sophi getting tired! (Santa.....I desperately need a new camera!!!)

A TRUE Fowler style ending to the evening......We ate such a late lunch and stuffed ourselves, it never occurred to us that our children might actually get hungry going home. Well, since nothing is open on Thanksgiving night.....they were THRILLED that they got to eat hot dogs from the QT (Quick Trip). I say, "YUCK!" But next to seeing Lily, that was one of their highlights of the night! Ha!We had GREAT food and great fun. Even though we missed our Kentucky family dearly, I am so THANKFUL to have friends that are like family here in Texas. Kasters.....we love you guys!!!

So Proud of my Husband!

The Texans lost yesterday but ended the season with a great record of 10-3! I am proud of the Texans and proud of Cary.
Last week, the HC of our Alma mater, Murray State was fired. To our surprise, our hometown newspaper wrote an article about the Cary and the job! Not sure what God has in store for us, but I am proud that he is getting the recognition that he deserves. He is the hardest working man I know and a great coach! I thought I would post it if you wanted to check it out!

Fowler, Murray would be a good fit

From the Bleachers By Joe Wilson

Murray State University is looking for a football coach. And it just so happens we know where to find a good one.

Murray State Director of Athletics Allen Ward said Monday afternoon that Racers’ coach Matt Griffin would not be back for his fifth season with the team.Although Ward praised Griffin for taking over the team hampered by NCAA penalties from a previous staff and making strides to improve, the 49-13 loss to Ohio Valley Conference bottom-dweller SEMO on Saturday was probably the last straw for Griffin. The Racers pulled off an upset of Austin Peay a week earlier. We say it’s an upset only because the Governors managed wins over Eastern Kentucky and Tennessee State this season. But that one conference win wasn’t enough to save Griffin. So, the Racers go back to the drawing board trying to find a coach who can revive the struggling program while bringing upstanding, quality football players to the community.

Enter Cary Fowler.

The former Hopkinsville High School football player, who now serves as the defensive coordinator at Tarleton State in Texas, would be a perfect fit at Murray State.

Fowler played four seasons for Hoptown before accepting an athletic scholarship to Austin Peay. He transferred to Murray in 1992 and played for Houston Nutt. He also served on several coaching staffs at Murray from 1995 to 2000.

Fowler coached cornerbacks for Nutt as the Racers won OVC titles in 1995 and 1996. Fowler stayed on as the secondary coach under Denver Johnson and the defense was among the top units in the country in 1997.Johnson was so impressed by Fowler, he made the former Tiger his recruiting coordinator from 1997-99.

Joe Pannunzio arrived in 2000 and kept Fowler as his recruiter and special team’s coordinator. He also coached linebackers.Passed up for another job, Fowler left for Midwestern State in Texas in 2001. He helped coach the team to two division titles in the Lone Star Conference. He was eventually named the American Football Coaches Association Division II Assistant Coach of the Year.

Since joining Tarleton State in 2008, Fowler has helped the team achieve an 18-5 record. It won its first Lone Star Conference championship this season and is still alive in the playoffs.

His credentials are impeccable.

But more importantly, the former Hoptown star understands what kind of athletes and people Murray wants to represent it.

Most importantly, Fowler is a winner and he deserves a chance to be a head coach. Murray seems to be the perfect fit.

Please click HERE and go to Tarleton Tales! Go to the comment section and send Good Luck messages to our players! Our S.I.D., Joey, does a great job with sports communication and pictures. I am sure he would pass them on and the guys would LOVE it!!!

Go Texans!

Sending the Love......

Well, yesterday I had a HUGE pity party for myself and I think I was the only one that attended my party! Ha! Cary and the Texan football team headed off the Washington State for the big game on Saturday. Yes, I was the ONLY wife not on the plane. Sniff, sniff. Oh well, I am hoping and praying for a VICTORY so we can play again next week. I always make signs for playoff games, so I made some and sent them along with the group. (Yes, the old cheerleader in me comes out!!!) Hope it doesn't rain or snow so they can be used!!!
(Purple Pain is the name of our defense....btw!) There are several reasons that I could not go on this trip, one of them being Sophi's School Grade Level Program. Oh what we will do for our children!!! Here are a few pictures from last night!
Several people have asked me where to listen to the game. Here is a link for those interested:
If that link doesn't work, go to www.d2football.com and click on scores. Beside our game, you will see a radio link. Click on the link and it should take you there!

Oh yeah, one more cool thing! Tarleton made the CBS Sports Non-BCS Top 10! I am lovin' all this National attention!!!

Tarleton gets National Exposure!!!

The highlights of our game were on ESPN sports center today!

And, Garrett Lindholm made the USA Today!

This is what the column said:
"Thumbs of the week:Up to Garrett Lindholm. Who? Tarleton kicker boots 64-yard field goal as time expires to force overtime in playoff against Texas A&M-Kingsville, the second longest in Division II history. Tarleton wins 57-56 in the second overtime, gambling on a two-point conversion. Top that, big boys."
