*edit* Proud of the Texans!

The TEXANS are #7 in the country in the AFCA D2 Poll!

As a mother of 2 little girls, I only hope and pray that they both grow up and marry a guy like Jacob Rowe. He plays Defensive End for Cary and he is on fire for the Lord. He is one of those guys that light up a room whenever he walks in. I hope that you will take the time to read these articles I have posted. These days you so often find articles or hear stories about all the "wrong" things college athletes do or the trouble that they get into. Very rarely do you find articles written and awards given for some one being Christ-like and setting a good example both on and off the field for others to follow. Jacob Rowe is that guy and I am so proud to have him on our team. He is just an amazing guy and he sets an example that we all need to follow!

Jacob Rowe was selected to the Allstate/AFCA Good Works Team this year.

Then, the Dallas News wrote another article about his "good works."

I would also like to congratulate the Texan Defense on receiving "Top Defense Performance" at the LSCscoop.com

"Top Team Defensive Performance - Tarleton State
The Texans held Abilene Christian to 255 yards and just two field goals in their big 13-6 win. The biggest series came after a TSU fumble that ACU recovered on the Texan 8 yard line. Tarleton kept ACU out of the end zone and the Wildcats had to settle for a field goal. Just two ACU second half possessions were for more than 3 plays, and the Texans had 7 sacks and 14 tackles for losses."

And another congratulations goes to our Linebacker, Marcus Phillips for receiving Best Defensive Performance!

"Top Defensive Performance - Marcus Phillips, Tarleton State
Phillips led the Texan defense with 12 tackles, 2.5 for losses including 1.5 sacks. He also had an interception on the Texan goal line, returning it 15 yards and thwarting an ACU scoring threat."

LSC Players of the Week!

SOUTH DEFENSIVE
Matt Knicky, Tarleton State, So., LB, Cedar Park, Texas/Cedar Park HSKnicky led the Texan defense with 14 total tackles as No. 11 Tarleton downed No. 9 Abilene Christian Saturday, 13-6. Knicky had three solo and 11 assisted stops for the Texans. The sophomore recorded one sack for seven yards which helped to stall the final scoring attempt by the Wildcats in the waning moments of the game. Knicky had two and a half tackles for a loss of minus-nine yards. Knicky has led the Texan defense in tackles five times this season.SOUTH

SPECIAL TEAMS
Devin Guinn, Tarleton State, Sr., WR/KR, Cedar Hill, Texas/Cedar Hill HSGuinn helped to lead the No. 11 Tarleton Texans to a 13-6 win over No. 9 Abilene Christian Saturday thanks to a 57-yard punt return for a touchdown. The Texan put Tarleton on the board for its first time with 14:14 remaining in the fourth quarter. The return tied the score at six points apiece.

Congrats on your ranking!!! So exciting for players and coaches alike I am sure. How is your week going? Did you get your house cleaned on Sunday? Mine still looks the same. That's on the agenda for Thursday and Friday. I was going to tell you, if you want more shirts like that for the girls, hollar and I can make you more.

That is great!! Loved the articals - I pray the same thing for my girls - I just really love kids like that! Maelynn is crazy about our Quarterback - and she has no clue what Quaterback means or is - she just knows he has done puppet shows to her Sunday school class - so she thinks he is fabolous! I'm so glad that she is already picking out the good boys to like!! I hope it continues!
